Bierhaus is an opportunity to experience Germany in Reading without travelling the distance. The decor features Semperoper in Dresden wallpaper which covers the bar and the wine cellar function room.

in the last weekWe had never been here before and didn't know that it was here found it on a Google search. We booked a table prior to attending. When we entered we received a very good welcome and I think it must have been the owner. They asked if we needed any help with the menu or anything else. You go upstairs to the tables and the stairs are a little steep and my wife uses a walking stick but she did get up there okay but coming down i think a hand rail would have helped. You have to order at the bar and that is not a problem and the bar staff were very good. There was a bit of a wait as the food was cooked from fresh, but the portion sizes huge and the food was very good and tasty

4 weeks agoInsane portion. Enough for 3. Crispy pork cutlet paired with creamy mushroom. Vinegary salad and hidden potato rings below. Unbelievable £18 with no service charge.

11 months agoThe staff were very friendly, the place was comfortable, and the prices were reasonable. The pork chop portion was quite large. The chicken wings weren’t to my taste because the meat was too tender and nearly fell apart.

3 months agoWe recently visited, and we were incredibly impressed. The food was exceptional; authentic German dishes served in generous portions on large plates. From sauerkraut to currywurst and schnitzel, the dishes were a delightful reminder of traditional German cuisine. The service was excellent, and the staff were very attentive. The bar and restaurant were cozy and impeccably clean. We commend the staff for their diligence in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. The hour-long journey to the Bierhaus was well worth it. It was truly a five-star experience in every aspect.

a year agoI went in for dinner with a friend from Germany to see how he rated the food and drinks on offer. He rated the choice of beer highly, and when we ordered the sharing platter, he was impressed with the variety and flavours. My personal experience was that the beers were excellent and the meat dishes were excellent. Highly recommend.
