El Cerdo

First time at El Cerdo. Nice restaurant, nice setting in Maidenhead town. Only open for lunch Friday and Saturday, so Friday was quieter and a nice atmosphere. We all enjoyed the quality, taste, and variety of tapas dishes. For 3 of us we opted for lunch 2x3 selected tapas, adding one special from board, and bread with olive oil. The size of the dishes was perfect, not too small as tapas in other places can feel like a ration. Large drink selection, though not non alcoholic cider. Lunch closes at 15:30 so our lunch from 13:15 was leisurely with dishes arriving as ready. All very Spanish! Staff were attentive and helpful. Individual men and ladies toilet.

UPDATE - after this review, the restaurant contacted me, and invited us back for a proper meal. I'm glad to report that last week's fiasco was an aberration, the restaurant clearly do care about providing great food and service. The dishes were tasty and served with care. Will return for the new menu ________________________ Very disappointed with our meal. I came once before, and it was great, but was really let down tonight. They clearly forgot to pass the bulk of the order to the kitchen, we had a hard out to get to the cinema, but was still charged (or tried to be ) for the dishes that we didn't have time to eat The food was did get was tasty, but not enough ... The cinema nachos were more satisfying Will not return when there are many more reliable choices locally

Had food this evening at El Cerdo for the first time ever. As we arrived for our table we were politely informed that they were going to move our table as there was a larger party next to our original location, which was really lovely of them in an already very busy restaurant! The food began arriving and was absolutely delicious and upon realising it was getting late we asked if the kitchen had closed, to which the response was simply to ask us what we would like. We were informed that bad news, the kitchen had closed 5 minutes or so before but good news, the chef would happily still cook what we'd asked for. All in all, an absolutely lovely experience, great food and good atmosphere. Totally recommend. On that note, as we arrived another customer on their way out was telling us how good it was and that we'd enjoy it, they were correct!

Absolutely delicious food - the Octopus and the Iberio pork was perfectly cooked and would highly recommend! Live music was great!

We came here tonight for our 11th wedding anniversary, the reason we chose here is because we have been here before and love it. Tonight exceeded our expectations, we were welcomed with a glass of bubbly, food as usual was amazing. So many dishes to choose from but the special we chose the stone bass tartar was out of this world… Daria was our host and attended to all our needs. She made us feel so welcome and talked us through our whole experience … I would recommend anyone to come here, amazing food, beautiful people… great atmosphere 🥰
