3 months agoKungfu Kitchen & Bar in Reading may not impress with its decor at first glance—an older interior with modern lighting—but what it lacks in ambiance, it more than makes up for in flavor. The service was quick, efficient, and friendly, making the experience smooth and enjoyable. Communication with the waitress was easy, which added to the comfort of the visit. The highlight, without a doubt, was the food. The prawns were delicious, the tripe dish was exceptional, and the Szechuan beef in oil broth delivered authentic even I prefer even more spicy version (🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️). Also the chicken, which wasn’t our top pick, was still well-prepared and appreciated by one of us. Given the overall standard of the venue, the quality of the dishes was outstanding, leaving us with a great aftertaste and a satisfied feeling. While it’s not the most polished or stylish place, the good food and efficient service make it worth a visit. If I find myself in the area again, I will definitely return.

4 months agoAlways have a great time with the family at Kungfu Kitchen, great authentic food. Jo and team always work hard to ensure we have a good time, creating a fun, friendly, relaxed atmosphere… celebrated the new lunar year trying the hot pot… a fantastic addition to the menu, a different experience cooking the food at the table, very enjoyable and tasty! Great value.

a month agoFantastic authentic Chinese restaurant with great ambience. Jo Steven and the team always make you feel welcome and give you great suggestions on trying different dishes and drinks. The food is always delicious and full of amazing flavours. We love the beef with cumin, coriander and chilli; Sichuan style bone in chicken and so many more dishes. This is one of the best ‘authentic’ restaurants out there.

a year agoVery helpful and polite server helped me with choosing a couple Northern Chinese authentic heat-level dishes. He was rightly proud of their food. Nice Mala on the water boiled fish and wonderfully savoury broth on the noodles. Stir fried fungus and greens to finish. Some of the most ‘authentic’ Chinese in UK to date. Mainly Asian patrons while I was there on a Monday lunch. Huge portions! Maximum flavour and good service. Great find for an authentic, inexpensive fix!
