We opened Damascene restaurant in Slough in 2018 with the purpose of serving the locals authentic Syrian food–the traditional way. As chefs, we wanted to do so in the way it’s done back home.
Sharing, generosity and hospitality are the hallmarks of Syrian culture. Food, is a celebration of life: Endless varieties and magical tastes…it is healthy and naturally prepared. It all comes together at meal time, the time for a family get-together and the time for friends to catch up. It is the perfect setting too for closing that business deal.
At Damascene, our food and service reflects these traditions. We take great care in our cooking using only the finest natural ingredients. We never rush our guests and always serve with a smile. Our success is a tribute to our loyal customers who appreciate the importance of being served good and healthy food in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
We genuinely feel that the only way we can show how deeply grateful we are for what we’ve been able to achieve, is by continuing to serve the best Syrian food in Slough.
So it is with open hearts and smiles that we welcome you to Damascene.
Only guests who have booked can leave a review.

2 months agoToday we went to Damascene restaurant in Slough. Food, ambience and service were excellent. We ordered meat platter, which came full of mouth watering grilled lamb and juicy chicken, which well connected to taste buds. We also had their mint tea… it was too good. Also tried two large Lamb Shawarmas, worth trying it. Strongly recommend.

3 months agoI had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. Some of the staff were extremely rude. First of all, I am a company director, and I don’t expect anything for free. Unfortunately, my 4-year-old child is very picky with food and only eats rice and chicken shish from this place. I have been ordering from here either via Uber Eats or by visiting the restaurant regularly. Today, when my son tried to sit upstairs to eat, one of the staff members rudely told us to move to a corner. This behavior is unacceptable, especially towards a loyal customer. The person should be mindful of how they treat others. I work in the airline industry, specializing in five-star hospitality, where I always treat my employees and clients with respect. I expect the same standard of behavior from others, particularly when my child is involved. I decided to take my son and leave the restaurant, and I will never order from or visit this place again. You’ve lost a regular customer, but I’ve lost nothing. Good luck.

5 months agoFantastic! Incredibly tasty and authentic food which never disappoints. A good variety of options to cater for all and great value for money. The service is always top notch too - friendly and hospitable and always attending to our needs. I’d highly recommend Damascene to anyone visiting the Slough area - you won’t be disappointed.

3 months agoService was rubbish - seemed to favour Arab customers. Had to ask multiple times for tap water. Would not recommend bringing children, no place for pushchairs and highchairs are dirty. Ordered the lamb chops which were bright pink on the inside, raised with staff and was told they were too busy (to cook the food properly?) and the half eaten chop could be placed on the grill again (so hygienic?) Portions are on the small side, no complimentary bread that is common in Arab restaurants.

4 months agoDelicious high quality food. We went for the mixed grill platter. The presentation and taste was fantastic. Loved the way the ayraan was served in a beautiful metal cup.
