a week agoVisited The Spring Inn recently and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. We were seated and ordered, but about 15 minutes later another table arrived next to us and somehow their starters came out around 20 minutes before ours. It was frustrating watching tables that arrived after us being served while we were still waiting. The place seemed to be completely overrun with what looked like very young, inexperienced staff. There were plenty of employees around, but most of them just seemed to be standing about rather than actually helping customers. When we politely asked where our food and drinks were, we were told “they’re on the way, you just need to wait.” Not exactly the kind of response you expect. We visited in a Sunday having heard good things about the roast, it was at best average. Greatly disappointing as when we visited previously under different management it was a very enjoyable experience. For a premium-priced country gastro pub, the level of service felt closer to a fast-food chain on a bad day. Really disappointing because the venue itself has potential, but the service needs serious improvement.
