Founded in Reading in 2017 as a street food and catering business, after successfully building a following at local markets and events we went on to launch our first restaurant in Caversham in October 2019.
Our mission is to improve the world around us through spreading the joys of a healthier and more sustainable diet. Our focus is on making nourishing but indulgent food and the food we make is from scratch, never deep fried, and always 100% plant based meaning vegetables really are the stars of the show!
It goes without saying that our impact on the environment is always on our minds and we strive to minimise that impact as far as possible in every area of our business from using environmentally friendly energy suppliers to using recycled wood in our furniture down to the basics of ensuring all of our takeaway packaging is at least 100% compostable.
We are also passionate about keeping our supply chain as local as possible and are proud to list the likes of local coffee roasters, veg suppliers, bakers, craft breweries, wineries, and social enterprises amongst our growing list of wonderful suppliers.

in the last weekMy husband and I are vegan and gluten free (by choice), and we have been supporting Vegivores since it first opened (including its appearances in town!) The food quality and presentation has been of a high quality since inception; the ingredients and pairings are well thought out, to the point where a menu change is a bittersweet moment at saying bye to the well-loved dishes but eager to try the new ones! Some of my all-time favourites are mint choc matcha brownie with coconut cream and ice cream topped with a mint choc piece, tofu patlican skewers with a peanut butter sauce, mouth-melting peanut butter cookies, burrito bowl, and the Sunday best burger. My husband and I tried the NEW MENU Buffalo burger today and although it was spicier than the Sunday best burger, it has distinct delicious fresh flavours of the crisp apple paired with the flavoursome ranch. As a side note, the toilets are always clean, and it helps that there is ample parking. If you are looking for delicious food from a place where people care about what they do, and how it impacts the planet, this is your place!

2 weeks agoHeartily recommend Vegivores for vegans and non-vegans alike, if you like nourishing, filling, and delicious meals at a reasonable price! Lovely atmosphere and friendly service. Great selection of foods and drinks too, I look forward to coming back in future, but already can't decide whether I will try something else off the menu or just have the burrito again as it was so nice!
