Lebanese Village Reading

Extremely disappointing experience. The food may have been fine, but the attitude of the server completely ruined our evening. When we sat down, I simply suggested to my husband that we sit at a particular table. The server told us it wasn’t ready because there were no plates. I didn’t argue, complain, or make a scene I simply moved on. Yet somehow, he seemed personally offended because I didn’t listen to him. From that moment on, his attitude towards me was cold, arrogant, and completely unnecessary. He even started speaking in Arabic with another staff member while clearly expressing his frustration about me. Honestly, if a customer not paying attention to you for a few seconds is enough to upset you, perhaps working in customer service isn’t the right job. We didn’t come here for a favour. We paid for our meal, just like every other customer, and the absolute minimum we expected was basic courtesy and respect. It’s frustrating to waste your money on an evening that should have been enjoyable, only to leave feeling uncomfortable because of someone’s unnecessary attitude. A restaurant can have good food, but if the service makes customers feel unwelcome, it takes away from the entire experience.

Don't let the tiny space fool you—this one serves up some of the best authentic Lebanese food you will ever eat. It is always packed for a reason. The Lebanese grills and rice are superb, and the falafel and Baba Ghanoush are absolute perfection. I’ve tried almost every veg and non-veg dish on the menu, and it is all incredibly tasty. Space is very limited, so it's perfect for small groups or top-tier takeaways. A true Lebanese hidden gem.

After a day in Reading we looked for a Persian restaurant which we had seen a few years ago near Caversham Bridge. We could not find it, but noticed this Lebanese restaurant nearby and took our dinner there. It was quiet and the restaurant was nearly empty. But we got a lovely meal in true Middle Eastern style.

The set meal is a fantastic display of food that is good value for money. Lovely spot in Caversham that is worth a visit
