Historia Meze Grill

Have just come back from this Ocakbasi restaurant. Have to say all the other reviews of 4 stars plus are completely warranted. Had the nicest meal, I ordered lamb shish- the meat was tender, seasoned to perfection and fat free. All main meals are accompanied with salad, Turkish bread and sauces. The rest of the party had either chicken shish or lamb chops and described them as delicious. The staff are very friendly and attentive which compliments the food. It's a shame about the location, but it isn't that difficult to find nearby parking and walk for 5 minutes. Will definitely be back!

Mr first cost, service, atmosphere and food were all first class. I'll definitely visit again when next in the area. Highly recommended.

Personally, I thought it was very nice. The dish I ordered was tasty and a good portion. However, if you're looking for authentic Turkish cuisine, this may not be it. My daughter ordered moussaka, expecting a light stew of sautéed vegetables and meat. What came was a heavy layered Greek moussaka topped with béchamel sauce, akin to lasagne. To be fair, that is what was described on their menu, but it's not what was expected from a Turkish restaurant. Unfortunately, the non-Turkish staff, unfamiliar with the Turkish version, could not understand what the complaint was.

I enjoyed visiting this restaurant for the first time. The staff and the whole experience is excellent. Good food and they can tailor your demands to your taste.

I was visiting family over the weekend in High Wycombe. We decided to try some food from this Turkish restaurant down the road. I ordered the adana kebab which came with rice and a bowl of fresh salad. The food was absolutely delicious. It reminded me of my trip to Turkey last year. The food had the similar taste to the restaurant in Istanbul. I will definitely try some other dishes soon including the desserts.
