The Angel on the Bridge is an iconic pub. Dating back to 1728, this grade II listed pub is one of the most photographed and painted pubs in England, because of its architecture and the amazing riverside location on the River Thames.

Inside it’s a quintessentially English pub with original beams and fireplace serving freshly cooked food. Outside on the terrace, it’s the perfect place to have a drink, a bite to eat and watch life go by on the river.

There’s a warm welcome waiting for you, no matter what time of year you visit, so pop in when you visit the beautiful Henley On Thames.

Lovely location, and the young barman was welcoming and pleasant. Food was a let down. Portion sizes very small for the price. Pie was rather pathetic, and the 3 mini sausages likewise. It is a good location but the value for money is definitely not there.

The iconic Angel on the Bridge, seen 100s of photos because it literally is on Henley bridge. Very picturesque. Outdoor seating to watch the boats and wild fowl go past. Inside a bit Olde Worlde. Beer selection was passable. Reasonable menu. Prices as you would expect in this location.

Brilliant pub next to the river, outside tables, really good burger and pies.

Popped in midweek for a bit of lunch. Greeted by warm welcome from the young chap behind the bar, who suggested sitting in the room behind the bar where there were some comfy seats. The menu was pretty good, for a small reduction in price lighter options of the 'mains' are available. I chose the cajun chicken with salad and fries whilst my wife had the chowder, a creamy dish served with two large slices of bread, which was lovely, ideal on an early rainy summer's day. I had a pint of 0% Estrella, which wasnt bad for an alcohol free lager. My wife had a bottle of flavoured cider, not my choice but she enjoyed it. Portion size of both was just right, certainly enough for the £13 for the cajun chicken. And whilst we ate the second of the two chaps serving bought over some dig trests, which were gratefully received by our pooch. So the pub is definitely dog friendly for well-behaved 'pooches'. The main restaurant area was nice and busy, so probably worth booking, even at lunchtime, to avoid disappointment. The service was excellent and the two guys serving were both very friendly, chatty and polite. We enjoyed our relaxing 90 minutes or so. The two armchairs were very comfy too. Price-wise, not bad, with drinks we spent about £35.
