London Street Brasserie (LSB) is a renowned modern European restaurant situated in the heart of Reading, Berkshire. Established in 2000 by chef-owner Paul Clerehugh, the brasserie occupies a historic 18th-century toll house on the banks of the River Kennet, adjacent to the Oracle shopping centre. The restaurant is celebrated for its commitment to high-quality British ingredients, seasonal produce, and a menu that blends classic European flavours with contemporary flair.
The restaurant’s kitchen is known for its meticulous approach, with all dishes, including bread, sauces, and desserts, prepared in-house. The front-of-house team, led by Jason, is praised for its friendly and attentive service.
LSB boasts a stylish interior with modern decor, complemented by a riverside terrace that provides a tranquil setting, especially during warmer months. The ambiance is often described as warm and welcoming, and the brasserie holds a strong reputation and guests frequently commend the quality of the food, the extensive wine list, and the overall dining experience.

in the last weekThis place is outstanding. A nice place for a family meal or something a bit more special than normal. A little more expensive than the restaurants on the Oracle front but well worth the extra, food is divine and service is always on point.

in the last weekHad dinner there in Sept 2025 with some friends. Overall the meal was OK, but pricey. I had the crispy duck for starters which was OK and then the lamb rump for main course. Hmm, I laughed when I saw the amount of lamb on the plate.... two small lumps for £33+, so I complained. The manager came over, explained to me this was the portion size but did offer to give me some more lamb, which they did. Eton mess for dessert which was good. Service was good but then you're paying 12.5% on top of the bill so this was £50+, so it should be!! I've eaten here many times before and enjoyed it, so do feel let down.

2 weeks agoExcellent place for lunch, very reasonably priced set lunch menu and food invariably well cooked and tasty. The roast potatoes were not as good as usual hence the 4 rather than 5 on this occasion but this will not stop me returning to this gem
