2 weeks agoThis is my 3rd year celebrating New Year Eve , here this year also Dec 31 2025 with this restaurant We are sorry to having to say this will be our last Meal with this restaurant During the many years we lived in Marlow , we have often visited at least 6 or 7 times or five in a year . This our last after this bad experience on our new years 2026 dinner meal with them We spent approx £230 for two person set meal dinner evening on the New Year’s Eve We had booked a table for my wife and my self to celebrate our New year 2026 here As we came into the restaurant we did not receive any welcome or greeting from their bar staff who wore two leather band on the arm of his white shirt or waitress. Sorry to say they looked unhappy also and not very customer friendly We had a set meal , a 3 course news years meal , on the menu it mentioned complimentary Prosecco before start of our meal , but non came even after our meal , so we had to ask for it , without any apology, instead the waiter unprofessionally asked if that was the only drink we want to order as the Prosecco arrived this was rude according to anyone hearing it . All Our 3 course meal quality was very sub quality poor quality, especially the main meal the beef was so salty , full of heavily salty, no beef tasted but but just very strong salt. I mentioned this to the waiter and all they said was sorry . Similarly all our other food was sub quality We as a family had lived worked for a large international gov in Rome and in other major places in Italy in the north , middle and on the south of Italy, so know know Italian food as good as the Italians We hope the quality of food and service will improve for thier customers after our complaint

2 weeks agoIf ever you want to eat in a total authentic Italian restaurant, Brutus is the one. Marlow is a beautiful town but most restaurants are part of large chains so it’s nice there are still the small independent ones around. A beautifully designed restaurant with traditional freshly made Italian food…owned and run by Italians. I have eaten here many times or just popped in for a drink. Always very welcoming and guaranteed to laugh!

2 weeks agoBooked online to have a table for 3 for NYE and during the booking it gave me options if I want to have a set up NYE menu or a standard booking. I chose standard booking. However, when we came to the restaurant we were told they can only serve us with the set up menu which was 95£/pp! When I pointed out the fact that we booked a standard booking they said there is nothing else they could do apart giving us a meal from the mains for 25£… on top of all this when we ordered the drinks only, the drinks we got were not the ones we ordered. I ordered a prosecco and at the end got a normal wine. When leaving the restaurant we didn’t even get the politeness to say goodbye and the only thing we got was a complete ignorance. This restaurant looks stunning but I’d stay come at a different time and not when there is festive season because clearly they don’t know how to work with that and what to do.
