a week agoUnfriendly brusque inflexible staff, average food. Seafood dish passable. Not reflective of the price. Overall a fairly poor experience. Not surprised it was fairly empty in a Saturday night.

2 weeks agoOur group of 8 (2 parents, 3 siblings, and our 3 partners) showed up to the Jade today. We used to live in the area over 20 years ago where we would eat at the Jade (formerly known as the Jade Fountain) on a weekly basis. We’re back visiting London and the surrounding areas. We were excited to see it was still open. We went today and I have to say it was just as amazing as we remember! We had a massive spread: Whole Crispy Duck, Chicken and Sweet Corn Soup, Pork Dumplings, Chicken Gyoza, Edamame, Egg & Vegetable Fried Rice, Chicken Chow Mein, Chicken with Black Bean Sauce, Sizzling Beef, Szechuan Chicken. It was all sooooo good. The staff were very friendly, atmosphere was nice and peaceful, and food was just as good, if not better than we remember! Our family was so happy the memories weren’t just nostalgia and our partners said it was some of the best food we’ve had on the trip! I highly recommend giving them a chance and know you won’t be disappointed. We look forward to returning again in the future to another wonderful meal.

2 weeks agoGreat food, great staff, lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately there was a long waiting (30 minutes) to get the bill, pay and leave. There was only 2 girls on the floor to serve!

a month agoFirst of all we were seated away from anyone else which felt kind of weird, Second and most important we asked for chilli oil which we used 2 spoons at the end they wanted to charge for the chilli oil and for prawn crackers I go out to eat often I Chinese restaurants and never encountered one that wants to charge me £3 for chilli oil or £3.5 for 5 prawn crackers. The waiter instead of providing a good service she started arguing to my wife that every extra sauce is charged £3 but they don’t have any list of what is or isn’t considered a sauce, because according to the waiter they don’t charge for SOY SAUCE. Really over all poor service and expensive average food

a month agoA great high end chinese restaurant. I used to come here alot before COVID but stopped visiting as the service had went really downhill due to the miserable previous owners (husband and wife) running the restaurant. I went recently to dine-in after exactly 7 years and the service was amazing. The new owners are always smiling, actually care about you and don’t charge extra for sauces. Looking forward to visiting many more times as the food has always been delicious.
